Q: How long is the course approximately?
A: The course is 155 hours of training required by the Massachusetts Office of Emergency Medical Services, 100% attendance is required by law. The course usually takes approximately 4 months.
Q: What nights/days does the class meet?
A: The class meets Tuesday’s and Thursday nights, from 6:30 till 10:00pm. Also there are 5 additional Saturdays classes that are full day 9:00-4:00.
Q: Does the course include text books?
A: Yes! Included in the course are text books, as well as CPR Healthcare Provider training if you have not had CPR training or your current CPR certification is expired.
Q: How much is the course and how can I pay for it?
A; The course is $755.00 with a required NON refundable deposit of $100.00 due when your application is submitted. All applications are reviewed on a first come first serve basis. Applications need to be received at least 10 days prior to the first night the course begins. We accept credit cards, bank checks and cash payments only. ALL payments must be made in full by the first night of class.
Q: What is NOT included in the EMT-Basic training that may cost an additional fee?
A: Your state exam application fee and your practical exam sight fee, and the computerized state written exam fee are NOT included. These additional costs are the student’s responsibility and will be written in your “Student Manual.”
Q: What is the size of the class?
A: County Ambulance accepts 20 students per course. The course consists of one Instructor Coordinator (teacher) and a ratio of 4-1, students to teaching assistants. ALL TA’s have had a minimum of 4 years field experience.
